Future Regulatory Regime for the Private Security Industry

If your business conducts investigation services in the private industry then you are hopefully aware that the Government intends to regulate you (via the SIA). This is similar to Security Guarding, Public Space Surveillance etc.

If you haven’t read it already on Thursday 5 September the Home Office issued a summary of responses document on the recent consultation of the ‘Future Regulatory Regime for the Private Security Industry’. Click here to read it.

In order to ensure that businesses are up to speed with this change the SIA will be hosting a series of short briefings throughout the UK in October and November to explain the introduction of business licensing.

Attending one of these events will provide representatives from security businesses with an outline of how business licensing will work: who has to be licensed, what you need to do and when you need to do it. This is your opportunity to find out the facts and ask questions.

The briefings are free to attend and will take place at the following locations:

Stoke on Trent – 10 October 2013
Belfast – 15 October 2013
Edinburgh – 17 October 2013
Leeds – 22 October 2013
Cardiff – 24 October 2013
Peterborough – 29 October 2013
Cheltenham – 5 November 2013
London – 14 November 2013

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
