Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research – Bikeathon (Paul’s Page)

Any regular readers of our site will know that we have a chosen charity that we support which is very close to both our hearts ‘Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research‘. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Any contribution really will make a difference to the lives of the 30,000 people diagnosed every year with a blood cancer. www.beatingbloodcancers.org.uk

After the Olympics in September Paul will again be taking part in the London Bikeathon 2012. This is an excellent event raised over £640k 2011 and we contributed well over £600 in the end thanks to some of our readers, family and friends.

This year Paul has kept his promise and opted for the 52 mile ride this year which will take him from West London to East London and back again. I won’t be taking part this year as my mini me wants to do the Children’s charity event, but we will be there and supporting Paul every step of the way. In preparation for Paul attempt he does not need inspiration he needs donations. Donating is very easy and can be done through Paul’s JustGiving Page it’s simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Last year we completed it together, although that was only because Paul waited for me along the way. We started at Battersea Powerstation and rode over to Richmond Park/Ham House and then back again, all together it was 26 miles (although closer to 35 by the time we got to the venue and home again). We managed to safely avoid the other cyclists (over 5,000 of them), the buses, and all the pubs on route! The weather was hot hot hot and we were both knacked knacked knacked! Pictures and previous blog article can be found here.

All donations are gratefully received and if you want to know more about the work Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research do follow this link. Please help this fantastic cause and donate via Paul’s page. Cheers Richard
