Security Management: Social Media – The Face of Disaster Response (Infographic)

Social media is the fastest way to read news and obtain information. Its the first place I turn to whenever there is a security incident or the potential for an incident. Its not secure and has the potential for being used by hoaxers but tweets or posts can very quickly be verified by the shear number of separate reports (although be cautious of re-tweets for example ). This infographic demonstrates the growing role of social media and in the below example its disaster response.

I really think security professionals should further develop the use of social media to benefit us in monitoring world-wide security threats and risks #securityupdate or #securitywarning or #securitytraveladvice ……….the opportunities are endless!
